PYF trip to play in Hull Futsal Tournament

Last weekend, Perth Youth Futsal teams participated in the first annual North of England Futsal tournament in Hull and came away with a trophy and an ever increasing reputation as being one of the top Youth Futsal sides in the UK. Players from the 12-14 and 15-17 age groups put on an impressive display of Futsal and enjoyed degrees of success.

The 12-14 team were involved in a 5 team tournament against Leeds Futsal, Grimsby Futsal and 2 teams from Grassroots Futsal in Hull. The squad performed heroics to win all their matches and claim the trophy.

The 15-17 group participated in the adult tournament and despite winning 4-0 in their match against Streetsoccer of Hull, they were unable to defeat tournament top seeds Ipswich Wanderers. A very impressive 2-2 draw against the team which finished 3rd in the most recent English national finals was not enough and it was the team consisting entirely of Portuguese players who progressed to the latter stages.

This Perth team also participated in the inaugural annual Grimsby-Perth Futsal challenge and despite another impressive display against FSRC, drawing 3-3, the missed out on the trophy by virtue of the latter’s 6-0 demolition of Gy Catalonia.

Although they returned empty handed, this Perth Team enhanced their reputation in the Futsal world as these impressive results added to ones already earned during the year.
