Perth Youth Futsal Winter 2004 League Cup

The Perth Youth Futsal Winter 2004 League Cup concluded on Friday 10th December at Bells Sports Centre with games that provided a glut of drama, action and excitement and a fair amount of goals as well.

In the 10-12 age group, River Plate’s cup aspirations hit a brick wall in the shape of the in-form Real Boys, who managed to book their place in the final where they met another in-form side, Gannochy Bluebirds. This turned out to be a very close game, with both teams showing skilful futsal, but Real Boys showed their class by edging it to win 3-1 and claim the League and Cup double.

In the 13-15 age group, Tartan Five overcame a stuffy Flamenco side to book their place in the final, where they met an in-form PG Bhoys team who had earlier convincingly beat Silky Scots to book their place in the final. This was another thrilling final, narrowly edged by PG Bhoys to claim a 2-0 victory and collect the trophy.

In the 16-19 age group, Los Galacticos had taken a commanding lead in the round robin format from the previous week, but looked to have thrown it away when they were narrowly beaten by Takeshi FC. However, they recovered their composure to convincingly beat Guildtown Futsal in their last match to claim the trophy.
