3rd Annual PYF Open Tournament
Fresh from participating, and winning, a youth Futsal tournament in Hull on the 5th & 6th August, Perth Youth Futsal held their own annual open tournament last weekend.
The 3rd edition of this tournament was expected to feature the Republic of Georgia U14 national team but unfortunately events at Heathrow airport put paid to those hopes.
Not all was lost as the tournament featured the first ever participation by English Futsal teams and it was one of these, Grassroots Futsal from Hull who convincingly won the 12-14 Cup.
With the PYF select team having beaten them last weekend in Hull, it was slightly disappointing that the local PYF club sides couldn’t emulate that feat, but there was no doubting the quality of the Grassroots team and they emerged deserved victors.
In
the 15-17 group, Unreal Madrid triumphed to add the tournament Cup to the long
list of honours they have won over the years.
